Welcome to the Stonefly Maidens’ Web site.
We are are an Oregon Council-Federation of Fly Fishers Member Club.

Our mission is to create opportunities, encourage, educate, and mentor women’s participation in the sport of flyfishing.
Our goal is to bring people together who share a love of flyfishing and the beauty of nature to create friendships and lasting memories.

Our next meeting is Wednesday, May 14th. Brian Chou will be our guest speaker and he will be doing a “Casting Q & A”. Brian is an FFF-Certfied Casting Instructor, and will be addressing any questions you may have about your cast, or casting in general. He is an expert on Spey too, so if you’ve been thinking about a two-handed rod, be sure to bring those questions as well. If you can’t make it to the meeting but would like to submit a question, email Robin at president@stoneflymaidens.org and she’ll ask for you! 

Our May outing was canceled due to a conflict with the Sandy River Spey Clave that same weekend (May 17-18). The Spey Clave is put on by our good friends at The Fly Fishing Shop in Welches, Mark Bachmann and Patty Barnes. Look for the Stoneflies helping serve lunch both days! The Spey Clave is held at Oxbow Park on the Sandy River. Meeting info: Our regular monthly meetings are usually on the 2nd Wednesday of the month, at the Iron Horse Restaurant, 6034 SE Milwaukie Ave, Portland, Oregon 503-232-1826. Social timef from 6pm to 6:30 and the meeting starts at 6:30 with the speaker or program starting at 7pm. They prefer to create one bill for the club. It is also helpful if we can pay in cash rather than by credit or debit card.

Fishalong info: The club fishalongs are generally the Saturday following our monthly meeting. Trip info is distributed to club members at meetings or via email.

Officer meetings: Any member can attend ‘Officer meetings’. They are held quarterly or more often as needed. Dates posted on Calendar page.

Other Items: We have hats, shirts, vests and patches with our Stonefly logo on the for sale at the meeting. What better way to advertise the club?
